About this policy
This policy explains what we store on your device when you use rsaelectrical.co.uk, and why.
We use very little. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no tracking of any kind on this website. Our visitor statistics set no cookies at all. Everything we store on your device is needed to make the site work.

What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. It is sent back to the website on later visits, which is how a site can recognise that you are still signed in.
Browsers also offer another kind of storage that works in a similar way. Session storage holds information until you close the browser tab. We use it, and we describe it below, because the law treats it the same way it treats cookies.
Cookies we use
Every cookie below is strictly necessary. None of them tell us anything about you as a person, and none of them follow you to other websites.

Both are session cookies issued by Supabase, the service that handles sign-in for this website. Both are HTTP-only, which means the website’s own code can read them but scripts running in your browser cannot. This protects your session if a malicious script ever reaches the page.
If you are a visitor or a client, you have no account, so you will never receive either of these cookies.

Your bank details and your tax details are never held in browser storage. The third step of the sign-up form, where those are entered, is not saved as a draft for that reason. If you leave the form at that point, you will need to enter them again.
What we do not use
We want to be specific about this, because most websites do the opposite.
- No analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics. Our visitor statistics, described below, store nothing on your device.
- No advertising or marketing cookies, and no retargeting pixels.
- No social media buttons, embedded videos, embedded maps or other third-party content that would set cookies of its own.
- No cookies that track you across other websites.
- No cookies from a payment provider, because we do not take payments on this website.
- No requests to Google Fonts. The two typefaces the site uses, Inter and Rajdhani, are served from our own website, so your visit is not reported to a font provider.
Visitor statistics
We count visits to our public pages with Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel, which hosts the website. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so there is nothing to accept or refuse. It records the page visited, the website that sent you, and your approximate country, device type and browser, grouped using a code that changes every day and cannot identify you. Sign-in pages, your account and our staff area are never counted. Our privacy policy says more.
Why there is no cookie banner
Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 we must ask your permission before storing anything on your device, unless what we store is strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for.
Everything listed in this policy is strictly necessary. The sign-in cookies exist only to keep you signed in, and the site cannot offer an account area without them. The form drafts exist only so that a form you chose to fill in does not lose your answers between steps.
Because none of it is optional, none of it is used for advertising or tracking, and our visitor statistics store nothing on your device, we are not required to ask for your consent, and we do not show a consent banner. We would rather not show you a banner that has nothing to ask.
If we ever add a cookie, or anything else stored on your device, that is not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent first, and this policy will be updated before that happens.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, and the instructions are in that browser’s help pages.
If you block the cookies in this policy, you can still read the website and send us a contact form or a quote request. You will not be able to sign in to a sub-contractor account, because the sign-in cookie is what keeps you signed in.
Clearing your browser storage while part-way through a form will lose the draft.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when the cookies or storage we use change. The current version is always published at rsaelectrical.co.uk/cookies.
